ABOUT
The Horsemanship Classic is a western team competition created specifically for youth students. Designed to be fun, educational, and encouraging, the competition focuses on developing well-rounded horsemen and horsewomen through teamwork, sportsmanship, and versatile horsemanship.

Foundation
Beginner level. All classes are simplified.
Competitive
Intermediate level. Regular class, relaxed approach to judging.
Elite
For highly competitive, advanced teams only.
HOW IT WORKS
Students compete in teams of 4 riders, with one of them being a team captain. They can share one horse, or have up to 4 horses per team.
The horse-rider pairing should be declared before the show day to avoid unfair competition and horse swapping.
Each barn / program can sign up multiple teams, as long as the horses aren’t shared between the teams.
Each team will represent their program / barn and will have their own team identity (team name, logo, color, uniform, etc.)
Each team member will compete in one class worth up to 25 points, for the total maximum of 100 points per team.
To avoid specialization and unfair competition, on the day of the show riders will draw a random card to reveal which class they are competing in. All riders should be prepared to compete in each class.
Awards are focused on rewarding overall horsemanship and skill level of the student, not horse training and performance. Awards include Champinoships, ribbons, banners, and more.
